For more than five decades, Calvados has been produced in the historic French region Normandy. The Master Blenders at Berneroy use old, traditional and well-known methods for producing many different and fruity types of Calvados, capturing the very essence of the local history and traditions. To make sure that AOC Calvados is different from AOC Calvados Pays d’Age and AOC Calvados from the Domfrontais regions, the AOC Calvados can only be distilled once. Single distillation is a requirement from the AOC regulations and traditions. More than 180 named types of apples have been approved for the production of Calvados. The traditional apples come from the green, luxuriant fields of Normandy.
